Tulsa Run Review
I love this race! The Tulsa Run was Saturday Oct 26 in downtown Tulsa. This is a big run for Tulsa with close to 4,000 runners! The top 3 female and male finishers win prize money. 1st = 5,000. 2nd = 2,000. 3rd = 1,000.
Since this run is so big, they have an expo for runners to pick up there packets early. It’s a pretty good size expo for a 15k. My husband picked up our packets.
What I Wore:
BEFORE-My wake up call was at 6:20AM, pretty late for a race, but I wasn’t complaining. I ate half snickers bar for breakfast and took my AdvoCare O2 Gold when I woke up. I got a little hungry before the race started (it didn’t start until 9) so I ate some candy corn. DURNING- I didn’t bring any fuel for the race since it was just 9 miles.
This course has a point-to-point start and finish, which means the starting line is different from the finish line. We parked in the middle of the two and were just a few minutes away from both the start and finish, so it was not a big deal. We ran the first mile (probably) downtown, then we ran the next 7ish miles by the river. We finished the last mile downtown and it was straight up hill!!! There were bands playing throughout the course and people cheering us on. For me, the best part of the race was the last .30… people are lined in the streets cheering for you and your surrounded by the tall downtown buildings. It’s a cool feeling.
